The news of Sushant Singh Rajput committing suicide in his Mumbai home has left the film and television fraternity speechless. He was just 34 and it has been reported that he had been suffering from depression for the last six months.

Shabana Azmi, visibly shocked at the news, took to Twitter to console the Chhichhore actor’s death. “What ? Why ? Psychiatrists say suicide can be prevented if those around can read the signals and seek medical help and counselling. What a loss for the film industry #Sushant Singh Rajput -Deeply tragic (sic),” Shabana wrote in disbelief.

Apart from Shabana, several other Bollywood celebrities have also mourned the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Disha Patani, his MS Dhoni: The Untold Story co-star, shared a still from the film on Instagram.

Vicky Kaushal tweeted, “Shocked beyond words. #SushantSinghRajput,” followed by a broken heart.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s last theatre release was Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore. The film also starred Shraddha Kapoor. The actor was awaiting the release of his next film, Dil Bechara, directed by Mukesh Chhabra. Earlier, it was scheduled to release on May 8, but due to the lockdown, it was postponed.

Sushant was living alone in his flat in Bandra, Mumbai, where he committed suicide. He was suffering from depression for the last six months.
