Bharatpur district in Rajasthan has emerged as a new hotspot in the state with more than a thousand coronavirus positive cases.
As of now, the district has 1,069 confirmed cases, of which 519 are active cases and rest of the patients have recovered.
Vegetable and fruit sellers, who travel frequently to Agra and to Jaipur, are said to be the source of the latest coronavirus wave in the area.
Most of the cases are found in very densely populated areas.
The local administration is planning to impose curfew in coronavirus-hit areas.
Bharatpur is the third district in Rajasthan to cross a 1,000-mark, after Jaipur and Jodhpur. However, the district leads in the active cases tally. Jaipur has 2,614 total cases and 486 active cases, while Jodhpur has 2,219 confirmed cases and 469 active cases.
Pali with 819 positive cases and Udaipur with 624 are other districts in Rajasthan with a high number of coronavirus cases.
