IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals said that they will not tolerate racism as they deleted a Twitter user’s objectionable tweet for directing racist abuse towards an RR player.

IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday revealed that they reported and blocked a Twitter user after spotting a highly objectionable and disturbing tweet directing racist abuse towards an RR player in a reply to one of their tweets yesterday.
Rajasthan Royals took to their official Twitter handle to clear their stand on racism and said that diversity was integral to the IPL franchise.
“We spotted a highly objectionable & disturbing tweet directing racist abuse towards our player in a reply to one of our tweets yesterday. We reported & blocked the individual immediately. Diversity is integral to Rajasthan Royals. Racism will NOT be tolerated,” Rajasthan Royals had tweeted.

The death of African-American after a white policeman knelt on his neck caused of a global furore and athletes (primarily of black origin) came out in numbers to raise their voice against racism based on the colour of the skin.
Cricketers also joined the moment and started speaking up. Chris Gayle wrote he has faced racism within the team setups also but it was Darren Sammy’s claim which shook the cricketing world the most. In an Instagram post Sammy, who used to represent Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL, said that people called him ‘kalu’ and he never knew what it meant.
Sammy said he had been subjected to racism while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), however, at that time, he did not understand what those racial barbs directed at him meant.
