Yes! India’s Table Tennis player Manika Batra is recommended for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award on this recent Tuesday by Table Tennis Federation of India. She is the finest Indian player we have right now in the Tennis game. The reports are suggesting that she might get it this time as the country expected a lot from her and she has done a lot for the country.
Manika missed India’s highest sporting honour last year and she doesn’t deserve to be missed. First of all, she is the first woman paddler from India to win a singles gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Even she has done great in the 2018 edition where she won four medals and two of them were gold. Now, it is time to give her respect and she does deserve it.

As per the reports the Table Tennis Federation of India recommended her name for the Khel Ratna Award 2020. She also won mixed doubles bronze alongside Sharath Kamal at the Asian Games in Jakarta. She is the finest player no doubt and this time she deserves everything from our country. TTFI has confirmed in a statement that we feel proud and honour as we decided to nominate Manika Batra for the second time.
A lot of you might know that in 2019 wrestler Bajrang Punia and para-athlete Deepa Malik got the award and that’s why she didn’t make it but now she is again on the list. The federation has also recommended veteran Madhurika Patkar, Manav Thakkar and Suthirtha Mukherjee for the Arjuna Award. Some of you might already know that Mukherjee recently broke into the top-100 of the ITTF world rankings and that’s something cool.
Coaches like Jayanta Pushilal and S Raman are also nominated for the Dronacharya honour. Now we are waiting desperately for the announcement by the government though that looks impossible for now. Panels formed by the Sports Ministry will shortlist the nominations received from various national federations in upcoming months.
